The stunning collection for autumn/winter 2010 is called Rock n Folk. The collection is based on rock and folk musical icons and the influence they have had on hair trends in popular culture. Are you a free-loving girl who sees herself as poetic and free or an edgy, bold one?
This season, two of the key trends taking shape showcase the iconic and musical worlds of rock and folk as seen on the international catwalks of Europe. They reflect the work of designers such as Gucci, Alexander Wang and Balmain who have dominated the northern hemisphere catwalks with edgy, bold and leather-inspired numbers bringing rock chic to fashionable wardrobes everywhere.
The Rock styling features bold cuts, crazy, striking colours with a mix of rockabilly meets Debbie Harry meets Billy Idol, with quiffs, beehives, flat-tops, undercuts. Colours are Majirel platnum blonds, high-shine dark browns and blacks with contrasting red shades added. Short 80's influenced cuts with bold colours will be huge! Shine is important - make sure your locks are super-shiny!
The Folk feel is represented by LUOCOLOR ‘on the road’ and channels the lifestyle of the travelling musician. It’s a fashion revival that has seen the likes of Anna Sui, Missoni and Kenzo producing eclectic prints, heavy knits and layering for a soft and subdued look. For the folk look, reflect on evergreen artists Janis Joplin, Joan Jett and Joni Mitchell.
Hair is long and natural with contrasting colours added that look like your hair has been lightened by the sun or deep beautiful browns with contrasting aubergines for that 'just rolled out of bed' look.
Two creative hairdressers from Paris have interpreted L’Oréal Professionnel’s autumn/winter 2010 collection: Yannick d’Is is behind rock and Marc Lopez has designed folk.
