As the months begin to cool and summer slips away, women with a passion for food and fashion can look forward to the most delectable in hair trends this winter.
Sweet Gourmet is the mouth-watering new colour collection by L’Oréal Professionnel.
Chocolady is the look by Majirel, L’Oréal Professionnel’s permanent colour range that offers rich, deep and intense long lasting colour.
Creamy milk chocolates, rich caramels and extra dark chocolates create a collection of beautiful warm browns leaving women melting with pleasure. A hint of gold chocolate gives hair that extra touch of couture.
Splashes of sweet candy will spice up autumn and winter hair in L’Oréal Professionnel’s Luocolour collection, another of L’Oréal Professionnel’s permanent colour range giving hair translucent luminous coverage with light reflecting colour.
Tangy flavours, like chocolate with kiwi, pineapple and orange infuses winter hair trends with a fresh citrus approach.
And just like the colours, hairstyles this coming winter will also borrow from cuisine with inspiration drawn from soufflés, mousses and fondants.
L’Oréal Professionnel's national technical manager Alishia Smart, says fashion for autumn and winter will be imbued with the flavour of high gastronomy.
“It will feature colours and styles that are less rigid, more eclectic and decidedly visual, with analogies that blur the lines between the worlds of food and fashion.”
Sebastian Brunn, L’Oréal Professionnel’s group product manager, says the collection has been inspired by a global search to identify upcoming trends.
“Working with leading trend scouts and designers, the L’Oréal Professionnel trend team has explored upcoming fashion trends and themes around the globe to bring to fruition the delectable new Sweet Gourmet collection. Fashion has never been so delicious.”
L’Oréal Professionnel’s Autumn/Winter 2008 Colour Collection Sweet Gourmet is available from March 2008.
Fashion look for dark hair
Cut: The hair has been cut short with length on the crown. The longer locks have been layered.
Hair Style: The hair has been blow-dried and styled. The longer locks have been curled and brought forward into a quaff at the front of the head.
Makeup: The makeup is flawless, the eyes are barely made-up with mascara and the lips in contrast are a deep sumptuous red.
Fashion Look: A metallic gold shrug with flower ruffle detailing mirrors the curves of the hairstyle and adds a luxurious couture touch to the look.
Fashion look for medium hair
Cut: The hair has been cropped close to the head and forms a rounded cut. There are slightly longer locks of hair at the front and on the sides of the head.
Hair Style: The hair has been styled so as to give the effect of the hair 'dripping' like that of icing on a cake. Gel has been used to structure the style.
Makeup: This is a discreet but delectable look. The cheeks and lips are highlighted with a caramel blush and eyeshadow.
Fashion Look: A runched silver bandeau dress with a fan-like ruffle shoulder strap.
Fashion look for light hair
Cut: The hair is long and layered. The layers create volume.
Hair Style: A cascade of fairly tight curls styled to form a de-structured mass, descends to the shoulders and the chest.
Makeup: The makeup adds bronzen glow to the face. The eyelids have been highlighted with a golden shade.
Fashion Look: A gold patterned dress with gold lamé shoulder strap give a particular glamorous look.
Fashion look for dark hair
Cut: The hair is long and has been straightened. The fringe is kept short for a modern look. The locks of hair at the front have been feathered to give a wispy fly-away look.
Hair Style: The hair has been tied with an elastic band and pinned at the base of the neck to give a rounded shape.
Makeup: The face is kept fresh and luminous with a touch of foundation and blusher. The eyes have been vividly highlighted with a turquoise shade.
Fashion Look: The top is made out of vinyl which moulds the curves of the body. The beaded necklace in candy pink shades creates an altogether sweet look.
Fashion look for medium hair
Cut: The hair has been cut into a square bob. A long lock of hair to one side has been feathered in order to reveal pineapple and orange colours.
Hair Style: The hair has been parted at the side and the feathered locks have been brought forward. These locks have been worked over with fingertips for a destructured effect. The rest of the hair has been straightened.
Makeup: An overall natural complexion, however, the eyes have been particularly worked on. Bright orange and yellow eye shadows bring an intensity to the look.
Fashion Look: The bright yellow top with the plastic broach accessory gives the impression of a sweet within a wrapper.
The fashion look for fair hair
Cut: The hair has been cut short and has been layered to reveal the three different colours including the kiwifruit. The fringe is long and reaches to above the eyes.
Hair Style: The hair has been straightened and individual locks have been worked on to show the natural movement of the hair.
Makeup: The makeup is light and fresh but the lips are a prominent and glamorous raspberry colour.
